SYFM habla de Rocío, Julia y David, y del amor que se tuvieron y ya no se tienen, del que se siguen teniendo, de cómo gestar, parir y criar, del rompecabezas que es todo corazón, sobre el rompecorazones que es es la vida contemporánea, sobre la alegría, la revuelta y las (in)coherencias.

Si yo fuera madre es un pasadizo por el que dos actrices con sus bebés escaparán de la disyuntiva a que se la quiere abocar: invisibilidad o desapego; y la oportunidad para que un dramaturgo que quiso ser padre y no lo ha sido nombre su herida y la conjure.

Todo ello será alimentado y cuestionado por la presencia de los bebés en la escena, que son presente y azar puros, y nos devuelven a la esencia de lo teatral: el encuentro colectivo con lo inaplazable y lo imprevisible; o sea, con el misterio de estar vivas.
